Nashville

I went to the CMA fest in Nashville, TN and met alot of stars, but I knew one in particular star in the making. The star in the making is a Curb Records recording artist, Ashley Gearing. We talked a few minuets before her show set at 4:00 P.M. , but I also got to know other country stars such as Steel Magnolias and Jay Collins written songs and now he is trying to get in the music business himself. Sure it was hot all week in Nashville, but we survived the 95 degree heat index.

Poems

Here is some poetry by Amanda

AN OPEN HEART

Come to the Lord with an open heart,

Worship him and do your part,

Spread out your arms and raise them high,

Take a glance at the beautiful sky,

Let us go and praise our king,

We shall celebrate and we shall sing,

Precious gifts to him we'll bring.

I COME TO THE LORD

I come to the Lord and I know he excepts my best,

He rescues my heart and he gives me rest,

People come by many different types,

If you dare to touch Jesus' stripes

you will propably not heat any gripes,

But be aware that if you drift apart,

God will no longer protect your heart,

Come out and see God's shining sun,

Heavenly life has just begun.

Helping Animals

In March our "Helping Others" focus was animals in animal shelters. We got together and made toys and objects for cats and dogs. We also sorted coins and rolled them to use as an additional donation.

Kym planted some catnip for future projects.

Roberto puts old tennis balls into tube socks for dog toys.

We used egg trays to sort the coins and sorted nickles, pennies and dimes to put in the coin rolls.
Dog chews from weaving old fabric together.

Catnip "mice" from the fingers of fuzzy gloves.

Tennis balls and plastic waters in tube socks for dog toys.

VALENTINE'S DAY PARTY IN A BOX

On Thursday, the Crumley Helping Others OT Project Group met to create a Valentine's Day Party in a Box to give to the Kitchen of Hope in Kingsport. Here is Jerry holding the box he decorated for us to put the party items in.

We made heart garlands out of stapled paper strips threaded through yarn for them to hang on their walls.

We made some felt LOVE banners.

We created cards to put on the tables for people to enjoy.

Kym made a unique heart wreath out of a hanger, plastic bags, felt scraps and yarn.

We filled the box with the decorations. June helped us make brownies, cakes and decorate cookies to send with the decorations to the Kitchen of Hope and she delivered the box for us.

Wishful Waiting

Here is a picture of Paul's beautiful flowers. He grew these flowers and they flourished all summer. He also took this picture. We wanted to post this today to remind us that spring and flowers are on the way.
